Have you ever seen raw gold? Or even a caterpillar before it blooms into a beautiful butterfly? Raw gold appears black before being refined, similarly it is highly possible to miss a caterpillar for a pest, hence destroying it before it could bloom into a butterfly.
When Moses sent out the twelve spies to explore the land of Canaan , ten of them returned with a negative report that the land was occupied by the mighty descendants of Anak. Interestingly, they returned with many produce from the boundary of Canaan as an evident that the land actually flows with milk and honey, yet they discouraged Moses and the people of Israel from entering the land; people who were anticipating the promise of God after been in slavery in Egypt.
Caleb conversely saw beyond the obvious and returned with a positive and encouraging result. You see, Caleb saw the same thing that the ten saw, except that he had faith that drove his imagination beyond the obvious. In the end they him and Joshua were both blessed.
Can you see beyond the obvious? Do you feel discouraged when certain things appears as not expected? Just like unrefined gold, it takes faith, patience, perseverance and endurance to reveal the beauty behind the ornament.
That job, business, career marriage, may not appear promising at the moment, but if is ordained by God to be yours, then be assured that it will fulfil the promises of God in your life.
