The dump is a place where unwanted items are dropped for recycling. The last time I visited one, I noticed that a young man dropped off some items and then picked up a rotten bicycle. I simply did not know his intentions for the bicycle but my first impression was that he dumped a rubbish to collect another rubbish.

The church building is perceived primarily as a place of worship and subsequently for communality where people gather to worship and relate with each other. The result of this gathering may also imply that burdens are being shared amongst people.

He required for us to gather unto edification unfortunately, gatherings of christians could easily swerve into the wrong lane if we aren’t careful; a lane where there’s gossip, slander, condmentation and judgement and we inadvertently pick up more dirt and burdens instead of lightening them.

Paul addressed this, he rebuked the Corinthian church for portraying their gross carnality. They compared preachers, brother taking other to courts, gossiped, spoke ill of others and were morally bankrupt( 1 Corinthians 3). This should not be.

The bible says this in 1 Corinthians 14:26
What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up”

When next you go the gathering of God’s people, make sure you a bringing comfort and power, not reproach and condemnation.
Make sure you are dumping and helping others dump, not adding to the mess.
